Be Inspired to Inspire.

creative What is Inspiration ?

The process of being mentally stimulated to do or feel something, especially to do something creative.

We all need inspiration at times. A weekly blog, in itself, requires motivation and maybe just one spark to ignite the dormant imagination.

According to latest studies 40% of our daily activities are habitual, and as Benjamin Franklin once said "most people die at 25 but they're not buried until 75 ",and get to the end of their life full of regrets and what ifs. It is  precisely for this reason it's important that you pay close attention to making goals

We have all watched and heard people speak of the moment when their life was changed by either a person or an experience which spurred them on to change direction.

Watching a team of schoolboy rugby players all eagerly anticipating the Final of the World Cup they all spoke of the players who they want to be, whose trajectory they look to replicate in a few years time. The fact they hold these sportsmen in such high regard means that at an early age they have a focus and a hunger to work hard to meet their own goals.

So why is inspiration so important for us ?

In a culture obsessed with measuring talent and ability, we often overlook the important role of inspiration. Inspiration awakens us to new possibilities and can lift a person from apathy to possibility, and makes us examine and question the potential of our capabilities. Inspiration may sometimes be overlooked but it has a major effect on the course of life outcomes.

Inspiration is the foundation stone for creative thinking and being inspired can lead to an increase in self-confidence and innovative practices and it also can lead to making more effort as those people who are inspired seem to set a higher level of goals to attain and being more positive in approach and attitude. Small accomplishments can be an important boost and a step towards more ambitious targets.

It would seem that those who have been inspired by role models and heroes often grow to inspire and this is a vital characteristic to being a good manager by having a vision to motivate, to empower others, share knowledge, experience and encourage creativity in the workplace.

We can relate this to our own story and how, without the inspiring radio interview heard way back in 2014 we would not be where we are today. Perhaps one day, we can inspire others to take a similar road we have taken…… please report back !
